Hey everyone! I’m putting this out there to see if the universe will help to make it happen….
I was just granted an audition for the chorus of the Vienna State Opera – for next Tuesday (yes, next week!) but I don’t have the money for a plane ticket on such short notice. Otherwise I would go in a heartbeat.
Someone then suggested looking for sponsors or donors to help out – that it couldn’t hurt to ask.
I can get a flight to leave this Thursday for $1400. (Waiting to fly over the weekend costs $2000, which is just SO much.)
So just like I did with my last CD project back in 2010, in which I got sponsors to help me out, I’m putting it out there to see if anyone wants to donate a few dollars here or there to help make this audition happen. I will not be pushy in any way – if you don’t want to give, or don’t like the idea of a musician asking for money, that’s totally cool, and I totally respect your position. But if you want to help me, I will graciously accept anything you are willing to give.
Remember, an audition is just an audition – it’s not a guaranteed job. I might not get diddly-squat. But it would be so great to at least try. If you want to help, just send me an email letting me know how much you would be willing to donate. If I can get pledges that come close to the amount of a plane ticket by tomorrow afternoon, I will book the ticket and go. If not, well, it just wasn’t meant to be at this time, and that will be okay too. (I do believe that all things happen for a reason.)
I don’t have much to give in return. What I CAN do is offer one of my CD’s for free for every sponsor. I’ll also put every donor’s name in a blog entry to publicly thank them.
I know it’s not much, but I want to give people something for helping.
So here I am putting it out there…. I guess I’ll see what happens.
Again, if you want to give, just drop me an email letting me know how much you’d be willing to donate. Then in 24 hours, I’ll tally it all up and see if I can make it work. If so, I’ll then ask everyone to deposit money as a “gift” into my paypal account.

***UPDATE***
Through a combination of Frequent Flyer miles and donations, I was able to reach my goal. Flight is booked, and I’m going to the audition! Thank you a million times over for the support and encouragement from so many wonderful people!
I will be flying out on Saturday night (frequent flyer miles don’t care which day of the week it is, thank goodness) and coming back on Thursday. Send me good vibes on Tuesday!!!
