Dreaming of Disney…

Updated On:

Any one who knows me won’t be surprised by the name of that title up there.  After going too long without being in Disney, I start to get serious withdrawal.  Not everyone “gets it”, but for those who do, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’m always planning my next trip, but that only partially calms the craving.  Right now, it feels like June is ages away.  I just want it to get here already.  I spend time every day on the disboards.com with other Disney lovers and other people who are desperately trying to research their trips.  Not only am I keeping up my level of knowledge to help my clients, but I’m also getting my little Disney fix every day.  I may not be able to walk through Adventureland on a late summer night right this moment, but I can imagine that I am.  I may not be able to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade right now, but I can imagine it!  (Although with Youtube, I probably could watch it right now…. note to self –  head over to Youtube after typing blog post…)

I’m especially hit by the Disney bug right now, as I was over at my parents’ house tonight for dinner.  My niece’s already know about next year’s BIG family trip to Disney (their first.)   And they couldn’t get enough of my Disney pictures on Facebook after dinner tonight.  Lilli wanted to look at every Disney picture I had up there.  (I love it!)  My goal is to turn them both into super Disney World fans!

But it reminded me that I had wanted to go through the old pictures my parents had to find photos from our early Disney trips.  I knew that some had to exist, but up until now, I only had a handful.  But I hit the jackpot!  In an old box in one of the upstairs closets was a stack of photos from my earliest trips to Disney (in the mid to late 80’s.)  I’m so excited to scan them into the computer!  (I promise that I’ll post some here as soon as I get that done!)

It’s so weird to look back at my young self – that’s when the magic took hold of me.   Every subsequent trip was a true and absolute joy – and it still is.  It may be a cool March evening and I’m here in Pennsylvania typing a blog post about my favorite place in the whole world.  But inside my heart, I’m already at the greatest place on earth.  It’s just 104 days until my body gets to catch up.
