Excited for new Disney memories…

Today as I was listening to my Disney mix on my iPod in the car, I began to really realize that my next Disney trip is less than two months away!  (And if you’re surprised I have a Disney mix on my iPod, well then, you clearly don’t know me very well… hahaha!)   Listening to the music from the rides and attractions is what really revved up my excitement.

This is going to be a big trip – not only will I be going (obviously), but I will be joined by my parents, my sister, her husband, and my two little nieces.  The girls will be 4 and 7 at the time of the trip and it’s their very FIRST Disney trip!  I am SO excited to be helping to give them this experience!  We have been planning this trip for years now, and it’s actually finally almost here.  It will be so great to see Disney through the eyes of a child.  (The last time I saw it from that perspective was when I was going as a child myself many years ago.)  I’ve become a pro at Disney from the adult perspective (albeit, an adult who has many nostalgic childhood memories of Disney to go along with that) but I have not ever had the experience of taking children to Disney.

We’ll be staying at my home resort (through DVC – Disney timeshare) of Animal Kingdom, in a Grand Villa.  We’ll be using three years worth of points to stay in this particular type of HUGE accommodation.  Three bedrooms, full kitchen, dining room, living room, pool table room, and four bathrooms.  The Grand Villas look out over the savannah, and we’ll be able to see all the animals from our balconies – zebras, giraffes, and many other amazing animals!  The resort is my absolute favorite at Disney – I’ve stayed there more than any other resort on property.  The lobby is breathtaking, the restaurants are some of the best at Disney, the pool is fabulous, and then of course, there are the animals!

I’m excited to see my nieces’ little faces when they first see the castle.  Excited to see them dressed up for our lunch with the princesses.  Excited to go on the rides with them.  Excited when they see all of those animals from our balconies!  I know I always have an amazing time on any Disney trip, but this one will create special memories I’ll never ever forget.  I hope to turn my little nieces into lifelong Disney fans just like me.  Aunt Jen can take them on trips and hopefully create the same kind of nostalgia in them that will forever live in me.
