Ghent, Belgium

Yesterday, Miloš and I were granted a special treat, in that we were allowed to have some time off the ship together during the day.  (Usually our together time off-ship is limited to after 9pm, as we have to cover the desk in shifts from 7am-9pm.)  We were both super excited to have the time together – it’s so much more fun to explore a new place with your favorite person!

Our ship was docked in Ghent, Belgium, and the day was sunshiny and mild.  Since neither of us had ever been to this city before, we didn’t really know what to expect.  We were more than pleasantly surprised!  Ghent is really lovely.  We walked the cobblestone streets, had lunch in a cafe on the main square, scored a great deal at the flea market, and just enjoyed our time.  The architecture in the old town is grandiose and majestic.  There were people everywhere, as May 1st is a big holiday in many European countries – lots of festivities were going on while we were there.

Here are some of the photos we took!
