Just a little jaunt around town…

Today the sun was out, and even though it was cold, I was going to get some of those rays.  I leave Saturday for Croatia, and thought I’d make a quick trip to the OEBB office at Landstraβe to make sure I didn’t need a reservation.  When traveling during the day via train, all I have to do is jump on any train and go.  (Because I have a Global Rail Pass, which allows me unlimited train travel.  Night trains require a reservation.)  But since I’d be traveling on a weekend, I wanted to be sure that the train wasn’t showing as full already or anything – in case I needed to reserve an actual seat.  The girl working there checked for me, and it came up as showing that there were many many seats available, so no reservation would be needed.

Since that was all taken care of, I decided not to take the UBahn back and to just walk for a little.  The Stadtpark (city park) is right near there, so I decided to take a short detour and venture into the park for a little bit.  The birds were out in full force at the pond in the park, and there were a spattering of people out sitting or walking along the paths.

Here are some pics from today…
