R.I.P. Grey Kitty 1997-2015

Yesterday, the world lost one of its greatest (albeit smallest) inhabitants.  My sweet little cat, Grey Kitty, died.  Because of my move overseas, I didn’t get to see him much the last year and a half, and I missed him every day I was away.  I was really hoping I’d get to see him one more time when I went back home over the winter, as he seemed to be doing alright, despite his advanced age. (He would have been 18 years old next month.)

Grey Kitty’s nickname could have been Super Cat – since 2008, he’d been on daily subcutaneous fluids for his kidney failure, in addition to a handful of daily pills that he needed to take.  But besides the three or four minutes a day of medical care, his life was good, and he was the happiest of cats.  He was always cheerful and ready for snuggles.  He loved to play with ribbons and his little mousey toys.  He enjoyed music, and even liked to play the piano sometimes.  (Yup, you read that right!)  But the best way I can describe him, is that he was a good soul.  He will be more than missed.  He’s now buried in my parents’ yard near his late brother, White-Face.  I know that he’s now in a better place, and I’ll see him again someday.

Here are some photos of Grey Kitty throughout the years.
