The Seasons

I won’t lie.  This cold weather has really motivated me to start thinking about my summer travel plans.

But I think I’m a little different than others in that I really don’t mind the winter all that much.  The cold?  The snow?  I can take it.  Perhaps it’s because I’m a January baby that was born in the middle of a snow storm?  Whatever the reason, I don’t really have issues with the “winter blues” or other seasonal problems.  As a result, I’m not anxious to “escape the cold” like so many others are.  So what is it about the winter that sets me daydreaming?  I think it’s that long stretch from January to April, when it seems that the seasons seem to hover in time for a little longer than they should.  Or maybe I’m just always restless for something new – even if it means the oppressive heat of summer.

(By the way, I can take the cold, but not the heat.  I sweat anytime the temps get above 75.)

And being stuck in the house brings out my inner-planner geek.  I actually relish in setting up charts and itineraries for my upcoming trips.  (And for clients!)  The planning is actually part of the fun.  But after all the planning, I just want the trip to get here already!  This summer should be a fabulous one for travel!  We’re headed down to Disney later in June, then I’ll be off to sail the River Danube in July with my parents and sister, then in August we’ll hopefully be cashing in the trip I won to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! I already have my Disney itinerary all set to go in pretty color-coded splendor!

I’m also so excited to get to share these trip with my readers!  Just wait, though, we still have the rest of winter to get through….  *sigh*
