Thinking of doing a layout update to my blog…

My blog is hosted through a site called WordPress – it’s one of the primary blog sites out there.  As a blogger, you have lots of layout options to choose from when it comes to choosing what your blog will look like. The particular style I used got an update that I’m not willing to switch over to, so I thought perhaps I could choose a new one.  But I want one that has a lot of similarities to the layout I was already using.  I like having a customized header and background.  (The header is my grouping of pics that comes up every time you visit my page here, and my background WAS the shoreline in Crikvenica, Croatia.  I’m playing around with the background pics.)  I like the way my menu had tabs along the top, but I guess I’m not tied in to that idea completely.  I like the widgets option – which are the little blocks along the right side of my text.

Primarily, I want a blog that allows me to have a visual focus first, and a textual focus second.  (Hence using photos in my header and background vs. a solid color or text alone.)  I want something that works well for what I’m trying to highlight – my travels and my singing.

So here’s your heads-up.  My blog is going to have a new look – but it’s going to take some time to tweak it.  It may go through several incarnations before I settle on something.   It all depends on how it fits in with my search for some temporary extra employment to help me get by until I leave for my adventures abroad.  Stay tuned!

🙂

(Edited to add:  So what does everyone think so far?  Good update?  Do we like having more pics along the side?  I thought I’d put some of my faves there – some highlights.  I’m open for feedback and comments!  thanks!)
